Life got particularly involved and I had to quit playing WoW to sort everything out.
I'm older, slightly less dumb, with copious amounts of free time so I'm looking to get back into the game.

In a dramatic and rather sudden life shift, I'm coming out of a miserable thankless career to take care of my house and my wife (and five dogs) due to a pretty bitchin' promotion she landed herself.
I love gaming, it's been a part of my life ever since I was knee high to a duck. I raided with Nightstalkers when I was 17 years old (Ask Def about it, he talked to my mom) but in that time period I was incredibly dedicated even though online gaming was something that had never really been in my wheel house. I'm looking to be dedicated to a group in my free time while I transition into a pretty drastically different lifestyle that I'm used to (and beyond)}

I have been a nightstalker before. Nightstalkers is to my knowledge the only guild in Emerald Dream worth raiding with (as they have been doing so nearly as long as I've been gaming).

What's the one misconception about your class that upsets you the most?
I miss the glory days when shadow priests were a heavy utility tool and where the raid needed very specific roles that other classes and roles could not fill.
I have not kept up on shadow priest drama for the last couple years, so alas, I am unable to answer this question to the letter.

The main point I was trying to make was that despite not having a bunch of defensive cooldowns Vengeance makes up for it through burst self healing and by using self sustain borrowed power.

Was a temp guild I joined on my new tank to get started with raiding on a new toon, left because I progressed past them via pugging.
Tell us a bit about yourself:
I'm a freshman in college whose played world of warcraft for most my life. My dad got me into it when I was around 6/7 ( have 4th anniversary achieve if you don't believe me lol. ) Been playing on and off since then, got into raiding and end game content in WoD when I was around 13~ and raided on and off throughout WoD. I didn't really start caring about doing well until Legion/BfA I was playing alliance on a dead server so there weren't many good guilds. I mostly just pugged for gear and tried to get into better and better groups while learning the fights etc. Not really traditional in terms of how current wow raiding guilds work but its all I really had. I quit after playing BoD and recently returned to the game. I decided to reroll on horde emerald dream because I had some friends on this server and I enjoy the RP server community more than the cross realm zones I experienced on my old server. DH was really a temporary choice to get a foothold on the server but I really enjoyed playing Vengeance / Tank and have continued my ways of pugging for gear. I'm not gonna bullshit like I'm some god amongst Tanks I have a lot to learn but I feel confident enough with the class and the role that I've begun looking for guilds. I'm not locked into playing specifically DH tank for the future, I currently have a bunch of alts ready to go depending on what tank spec I chose to play for SL. Though I'm applying on this character due to the nature of the others being ilevel 80 alts.}

Tank DH's rotation is a bit weird, the general principle I follow is maximizing the amount of 4+ Spirit Bombs I get out because of the self healing and raw damage it contributes to AOE situations. I'll outline a general opener below:
1 Use both Infernal strike charges and sigil of flame
2 Fracture twice to generate fury and shards.
3 Spirit bomb to enable my self healing and to use up shards
4 Fel Devastation to activate demon form and for damage
5 If I have excess fury dump it using Soul Cleave.
The general theory behind this rotation as I've come to understand it is to maximize your burst healing and damage in all situations. Though I will admit in single target the damage is quite lackluster at the moment. Where we really shine is AOE. Yeah this isn't really that big of a deal for raid encounters but I'm a certified trash destroyer.
Tank DH isn't all damage though and when it comes to defensives the main goal is demon spikes as often and as long as possible. Fiery brand as our primary mechanic defensive, and metamorphosis whenever we're scared of dying or to increase our dps, I typically use it more as an "Oh shit!" button because it heals you for a ton and increases your armor by a insane amount, helping to smooth out mistakes and recover. Depending on the fight I will pop this at the beginning or whenever lust is popped to increase my damage as you generate more soul shards while demon form is up.

Started raiding as a little kid back in WoD, thought I was hot shit but quickly learned otherwise, I was in some random guild called and we could barely progress on normal hellfire citadel. As a dumb kid I didn't really get that far and maybe did a few heroics by the time WoD ended. I played as a windwalker / mistweaver during this time. In legion I wanted to try something else so I went with mage, I heard fire was good at the time and I played that throughout the entire expansion, I did normal and a couple heroics but mostly relegated myself to pugs I had a guild at the time but I didn't raid with them often my older brother became a member of their core raid team but I never played the game consistently enough to join that. BfA I played during the first two tiers, frost mage in both, most I did was like 5/9 heroic BoD, didn't really stick around long enough because I didn't enjoy the game at the time. Though these years of experience don't really show me as a careered consistent mythic raider they do represent me growing up and improving at the game. I don't really have many logs or data points that show that. It's more of a personal understanding about myself and my skill. If what you want is a careered high skill raider then I'm not really your guy, but if you want someone willing to improve and learn that has a long history with the game ( regardless of if it's a good history lol ). Then maybe I'm your guy.
Are you willing to respec or sit out of a raid if a different class is needed? Yeah in mythics different classes are more viable than others, if bringing me hurts the ability to progress it's completely understandable to bench me for that fight.

as I'm a university student and each professor schedules exams differently depending on what classes I take during a semester I might arrive late to some raids, I don't think this will be much of an issue as only one class I'm taking this semester even has a chance of interfering with raid time and I don't think many other classes will follow along with this trend, but it is something to keep in mind. I'm not in med school or something so it's not like I need to spend 10 years of my life studying per week but I still might need to take breaks to study for an important midterm etc. Any and all of this will be reported far before the next raid as to give time to plan around it. This will probably happen like 2 times a semester so I still feel comfortable marking myself as available for all raid times.
Other than that I hope ya'll consider me for the guild, I'm not some type of god gamer but I try my hardest and hope you'll at least consider me for shadowlands. Thanks for taking the time to read my applications all the way through and have a good one!

Though these years of experience don't really show me as a careered consistent mythic raider they do represent me growing up and improving at the game. I don't really have many logs or data points that show that. It's more of a personal understanding about myself and my skill. If what you want is a careered high skill raider then I'm not really your guy, but if you want someone willing to improve and learn that has a long history with the game ( regardless of if it's a good history lol ). Then maybe I'm your guy.
Are you willing to respec or sit out of a raid if a different class is needed? Yeah in mythics different classes are more viable than others, if bringing me hurts the ability to progress it's completely understandable to bench me for that fight.
Are you willing to download a few raid specific addons? Yeah I have no problem downloading addons, I'm also experienced with lua though I'll admit I haven't done much with wow's lua api.
Are you able to be in Discord (WITH a working mic) during raids? Yep I've used discord for a long time and have a blue yeti microphone.
Please list your computer's specs. CPU speed, video card, RAM, Wireless/Wired?, Cable/DSL?, and average in-game latency.

Is there anything else you think we should know?
as I'm a university student and each professor schedules exams differently depending on what classes I take during a semester I might arrive late to some raids, I don't think this will be much of an issue as only one class I'm taking this semester even has a chance of interfering with raid time and I don't think many other classes will follow along with this trend, but it is something to keep in mind. I'm not in med school or something so it's not like I need to spend 10 years of my life studying per week but I still might need to take breaks to study for an important midterm etc. Any and all of this will be reported far before the next raid as to give time to plan around it. This will probably happen like 2 times a semester so I still feel comfortable marking myself as available for all raid times.
Other than that I hope ya'll consider me for the guild, I'm not some type of god gamer but I try my hardest and hope you'll at least consider me for shadowlands. Thanks for taking the time to read my applications all the way through and have a good one!
